[강남 소비자저널=최규태 기자] 용인특례시(시장 이상일)는 14일 ‘수원·용인 새마을금고 이사장·실무책임자 협의회’와 용인과 수원에 있는 16개 새마을금고에서 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위한 성금 1000만원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.
‘수원·용인 새마을금고 이사장·실무책임자 협의회’는 2022년부터 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위한 성금 기탁을 해오고 있다. 또, 2023년에는 경기 40번째 나눔리더스클럽(모임 단위 기부 프로그램)에 가입하는 등 나눔문화 확산에 기여하고 있다.
이상일 시장은 “어려운 시기에도 이웃을 돕기 위해 매년 기부활동을 펼치고 있는 새마을금고에 감사하다”며 “시와 새마을금고가 서로 소통하고, 지역사회의 발전과 이웃을 돕기 위한 노력이 계속 이어지기를 바란다”고 말했다.
김경태 협의회 부회장은 “임직원들과 새마을금고 각 지점이 지역사회 이웃들과의 상생을 위해 마음을 모아 나눔활동에 동참하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지역내 어려운 이웃을 위한 사회공헌활동을 이어갈 것”이라고 말했다.
기탁된 성금은 경기사회복지공동모금회를 통해 지역 내 저소득 가구와 사회복지시설 지원사업에 사용될 예정이다.
